3G Licensing S.A., a subsidiary of Sisvel, managed the 3G Joint Licensing Programme. The programme offered a licence to patents essential to the third-generation mobile communication technology standard, including UMTS, the WCDMA, ARIB STD-T63, TD-SCDMA, FOMA, HSPA, HSPA+, HSUPA and HSDPA standards being derivative standards thereof, held by the participating patent owners.

The 3G Joint Licensing Programme is no longer active, but Sisvel currently operates patent pools and joint licensing programmes in the field of Mobile Communications technologies.
